Respect Effect - Frequently Asked Questions Q: What size company needs to provide training like Respect Effect? A: Generally speaking, there are no "size requirements" for training-all companies, big and small, should be training all employees and managers on the topics of harassment, discrimination and retaliation. Q: What are the costs associated with this program? A: Respect Effect has an initial program price for non-profits ($4,500) and for-profit companies ($6,500), which includes all the program components as well as 40 licenses for use by the company. After the initial program price, the program is sold on a per-user basis (one license for each person being trained) and there is a sliding scale cost per user based on the number of additional licenses purchased. Q: We've already conducted a training session. Do we need additional training? A: In most states, there are no set requirements on how frequently you must train your employees. However, it is highly suggested, both by the EEOC and the courts, that training be done on a regular basis (e.g. annually). Q: We have clear policies on discrimination, harassment, and bias that all employees have to sign to demonstrate their understanding and acceptance. Isn't that sufficient? A: It isn't enough today to just have a policy prohibiting discrimination, harassment and bias. The Supreme Court has stated that employers must "educate themselves and their employees on Title VII's [the federal discrimination and harassment law's] prohibitions." Kolstad v. American Dental Association, 119 S.Ct. 2118, 2129 (1999). Q: What is the time commitment required to provide this training? A: The manager program is designed to be completed within 4 hours and the employee is designed to be completed within 3 hours. Each program is divided into sections and the training may be delivered all at once or broken into shorter sessions based on the sections (generally 1 hour per section). The program is designed so that it can be tailored (time-wise) to fit the needs of the company. Please contact us if your question was not answered above.
